I especially like that not every event may be fully detailed in patch notes: you might just find.
It's been three weeks since the launch of Sea of Thieves, and the developers want the community to know they're listening. A recent post from developer Rare on the game's website outlines the features of the newest patch, including legendary ship customizations, fixed issues, and performance improvements.
The first content update for Sea of Thieves, The Hungering Deep, will release in May and bring with it a new AI threat to the world. The video below details what's coming next for the co-op pirate adventure game.
In the meantime, the first legendary ship customizations have arrived at the Shipwrights Shop in the Legendary Hideout. Here, players can purchase their new Pirate Legend sails, hull, and figurehead.
In a Content Plan Article, Rare explained its thought process behind adding new content to Sea of Thieves. It listed five factors that the developer considers when making changes to the game:
- Bringing players together in interesting ways, encouraging different types of player encounters
- Enriching the world that players adventure in
- Giving players new ways to play
- Giving players a variety of goals and rewards
- Broadening the journey to Pirate Legend and beyond
Rare also says that in April its main focus was addressing top feedback points, but it looks forward to May as a focus shift toward new content, including the release of The Hungering Deep. Players can also expect a weekly events program in May, where Rare will introduce new mechanics and give players fun new ways to play with special events and rewards.
In the new patch, players will also now hear a new sound effect when they open a Lore Book and when a Merchant Alliance contract has expired. Additionally, it is now easier to place chests and skulls on shelves in the Captain's Cabin, and to drop items overboard - just in time for Spring Cleaning!
As for controller remapping, push-to-talk has been added to the list of actions players can rebind on a controller.
Patch 1.0.4 addresses a long list of fixed issues for the game. Some issues are included below, but the list can be viewed in full on Rare's post.
- The server migration free-zone around the Skeleton Forts has been doubled
- Trading companies now inform you when you have reached the voyage purchase limit for the day (refreshes at 6 a.m. in-game time)
- Players weapon selection from the Armoury should no longer reset to default after death
- A notification should now trigger when a crewmate finds a reward from a Message in a Bottle map
- Ships should no longer spawn with damage
- Filters in the Equipment Chest will no longer become impossible to select
- Players will now correctly take damage from gunpowder kegs whilst underwater
- Multiple text bugs and NPC dialogue issues in English have been resolved
The update also includes various performance improvements, including improved performance on high-resolution PCs running at lower than native resolution, reduced instances of rubber banding and player teleportation, increased quality of island rendering at a distance when using the spyglass, and multiple server crash fixes.
The post also listed issues that Rare knows about and is currently working on.
Sea of Thieves players can look forward to two more content updates in the summer: Cursed Sails, which will include a new ship type, and Forsaken Shores, which will introduce players to a perilous new part of the world to explore.
The download size for the patch is 1.30 GB for all platforms. Sea of Thieves will be unavailable due to necessary maintenance on Wednesday, April 18 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. BST.

In the past few hours, at the end of the maintenance work on the servers, Rare released the Patch 1.01 for Sea of Thieves, which aims to improve the stability and quality of the gaming experience.
To be precise, this is not a simple update, since the entire client of the game has been replaced. Users will then have to download up to 19.53 GB of data, based on the platform they play on.
Xbox One: 9.99GB
Xbox One X: 18.97GB
Windows 10: 19.53GB
Technically, Rare could have worked on optimizing the size and releasing a smaller patch, but this would have caused a significant delay in publication. The team preferred to make improvements available as soon as possible. This will not be repeated in the future, as the next update will be much smaller.
The update solved, among other things, the following problems:
Install Sea Of Thieves Pc
1. Objects and missing weapons at the start of the game.
2. Objects of the Black Dog pack absent (for those who have pre-ordered the game)
3. Performance issues on the Xbox One X version.

For more information, we advise you to consult the official changelog at this address. In the coming days, Rare will continue to work on improving Sea of Thieves in order to solve the other problems reported by the players, such as the details of the characters that disappear (eye color, beard, etc.) and the lack of assignment of the Achievements.
The latter, in particular, has been temporarily disabled and their reactivation is scheduled for the end of the week. Finally, we point out that the developers have definitively rejected the idea of introducing a tax on death.
